We’re big believers that academic preparation, mindset, and school culture create a winning formula for long-term success and quality of life. It’s why we position our scholars to recognize their potential, double down on their studies, and commit themselves to scaling big mountains to realize their dreams.
It is this driving belief that initiated our 2030 Academic Goal.
Academic Goal & Four-Year Timeline
By 2030, we expect at least 75% of our scholars to be performing at the 75th percentile or higher in reading and math by the end of their 4th year. This sizeable goal reflects our commitment to ensuring college readiness for every BA graduate should they choose the higher-education path. We selected the four-year mark because it gives our scholars adequate time to become immersed in our culture of high values, beliefs, and practices, which will dramatically impact their academic growth.
75th Percentile & SAT Scores of 1200 or Higher
Because academic achievement plays the most significant role in college admissions, our scholars will increase their eligibility at selective schools with an SAT score above the 50th percentile, a 1200 or higher, or an ACT score of 23 or higher.
Setting the Stage for Scholar Achievement
By tracking the percentiles of our scholars rather than percentages, we can compare an individual’s score to the scores of other scholars in the same age group or grade level, telling us how well a child performed compared to their peers. Our 75th% benchmark allows us to support scholars’ academic success by creating growth goals specific to their exceptional social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
To achieve our 2030 Academic Goal, we will provide:
- Daily, interactive “Fundations” to teach and track reading, writing & vocabulary skills
- Morning grade-level work to review concepts, address non-academic needs, and prepare for the school day
- Recognition of scholars or “Rising Stars” who meet growth projections from one Map testing period to the next
- Interim Programming to support individual scholar MAP growth goals
- An ongoing culture of support that influences the mindset, focus, and capabilities of every scholar
