Founding Friends of Butler Academy Donor Wall to be Unveiled
Butler Academy’s campus will be the place to be on the evening of Wednesday, November 15.
Guests will be treated to a free, family-friendly “Taste of Giving” community event to say thank you to the many forward-thinking organizations and individuals who support Butler Academy and ensure that Hartsville continues to be the vibrant, connected community that inspires us to be our best.
“As we usher in the season of giving, I am profoundly aware of the debt we owe to our community – our scholars and families, phenomenal staff members, generous donors and the school’s good neighbors who recognize the role that excellent, whole-child education can play in bringing people together,” said Butler Academy Co-Founder and President Dr. Jerome Reyes.
“We know it’s a tall order to try to thank everyone who has helped Butler Academy since our founding in 2020, but it’s no harder than creating a new school to obliterate persistent achievement gaps. Luckily, Butler Academy’s movement of can – I Can. You Can. WE CAN. – was made for just such a challenge,” Reyes added. “We can do both of these things, and we must!”
“Although not surprising, it is definitely exciting to see that local organizations are jumping into the community spirit of gratitude-based giving by hosting “We CAN” booths to provide information about their work as well as to share delicious samples of Sweet Treats, Savory Bites, and Healthy Choices with our guests,” said Butler Academy Co-Founder and Vice President of Operations Venesa Reyes. “We wouldn’t be able to do something like this without strong partners.”
Besides giving the school a chance to publicly express its gratitude, hosting the event on National Philanthropy Day provides an ideal opportunity for the school to unveil a large, permanent donor wall in the school’s vestibule that displays the names of the school’s visionary funders, the Founding Friends of Butler Academy.
