At BA, a Longer Day Means More Time to Learn
An essential part of the school day for many BA scholars, our Extended Day Program (XDP) picks up where the traditional school day ends, offering enrichment activities and an opportunity to catch up or get ahead in any particular subject.
Scholars participate in QUEST, or Quality Uninterrupted Enforced Study Time, following a quick recess and snacks. High school students from the nearby Governor’s School for Science and Math help our scholars complete their homework, including additional time reading with our youngest scholars.
After QUEST, daily courses, called “Passion Projects” provide exposure to courses like music, theater, art and dance thanks to a partnership with nearby Coker University, as well as Tennis lessons thanks to a partnership with the Ron James Youth Tennis Program. Scholars benefit from new experiences and meet positive role models with a collection of interesting talents. Passion projects are based on staffing, the offerings can vary from quarter to quarter.
